The SilkPride community ("silQs" 丝客) has always thrived on connection — threads of stories, art, and history woven together to form something radiant. Now, we’re bringing that tapestry into a new kind of space. Welcome to the SilkPride Discord, a home for conversation, creativity, and collaboration among LGBTQ+ Asian voices and allies around the world.
Extending the Museum Beyond the Screen
Our Queer Asian Museum celebrates the stories that too often go unseen — from historical archives to contemporary art that pulses with pride and defiance. Discord lets our fans and affiliated groups extend that into real-time dialogue with brand-new joy and fun. Members can share research, showcase queer artistry, or simply find solidarity in shared experience.
Building a Connected Community for the Future
The legacy of queer Asian cultural heritage is a shared treasure. It thrives when communities come together to celebrate, preserve, and innovate. I believe that building strong, connected networks is essential for sustaining this legacy.
Community-building involves:
Creating safe spaces for dialogue and expression.
Collaborating across generations to bridge gaps in understanding.
Advocating for representation in mainstream cultural and historical narratives.
Through these efforts, we cultivate a sense of belonging and resilience. We ensure that the stories of queer Asian individuals are not only remembered but also inspire future generations.
What You’ll Find Inside
In true SilkPride spirit, the Discord space mirrors the pillars that define our digital museum:
Visibility — Channels spotlight queer Asian artists, writers, and community projects.
Empowerment — Members can host talks, workshops, or art shares.
Joy — Because celebration is resistance, and community is art in motion.
This is a place to connect globally and celebrate locally — from the archives of Manila to the studios of Seoul, from academic research to fan art and storytelling.
Join the Conversation
We invite LGBTQ+ Asians, researchers, and allies to step into this new SilkPride experience. Come for the history, stay for the community, and help us shape a space where our voices don’t just echo — they harmonize.
